Letter from the Editors

Greetings once again from the world headquarters of the international conglomeration known as APeX Ministries. We would like to apologize for the amount of time it has taken us to get APeX Attacks number 6 to you (and, for many of you, the amount of time it has taken us to get back to many of your kind letters and e-mail). Have faith! We still love you! (Yes, this is a first. We are apologizing to you for not getting back to you. Normally, in this space we would be talking about how unloved Gene feels because you have not written lately. Now, Gene is racked with guilt for not getting this out in a timely fashion... but that is another story.) We had hoped (and planned) to get this issue out to you by the middle of March, but the last 10 weeks have been some of the busiest of our ministry yet. Some of you have gone into “Gene and Brad withdrawal”. (If you have, we are sure Gene can point you to a very good counselor.) We would like to remind you that you can hear from Gene and Brad once every three weeks. That’s right, we send a digital version of this publication called (go figure) Digital APeX Attacks (or as we like to call it, DAA). We have very consistantly sent out DAA every three weeks. (We actually do something on time!) If you would like to receive DAA, all you need to do is visit our web page, APeXMinistries.com, or send an e-mail to DAA@APeXMinistries.com. Your life is not complete without it!
We are very blessed in this issue. As you can see below, we have two very special contributors to the writing of this fine publication. At first you might say, “Hey, of course Gene and Brad say they are blessed to have two people write for APeX Attacks. That just means they don’t have to do as much writing.” At some level that may be true, but truth be known we are very lucky because of the type of writing that has been added. Often we are asked about our lives. Why do we do what we do? What is life like on the road? And the like. The answers we give are as honest as they can be, but we decided that we should give you a little different perspective on our lives. The two people who have contributed to this issue are Joia Farmer (Brad’s wife) and Laney Monterastelli (Gene’s sister). We would like to thank them both for their contribution.
Our web page is up and kicking (and we are getting hundreds of folks stopping by each month). If you have not had a chance to see it yet, check it out. If you have been to the site in the past, we hope you come back (by the end of May there will be a complete overhaul). We will say it again, get DAA. It is the best way to keep up with the ministry and the upgrades to the web page. We would also like to remind those readers of DAA that we are, in the next few months (hopefully by the beginning of June), going to roll out the third phase of our digital plan to stay connected (the first two phases being the web page and DAA).
Finally, we would like to thank a few folks. We would like to thank Trevor Bonat, Christine Katin, Jen Stevenson, and Greg Vanslambrook for helping us label and sort APeX Attacks #5. We would like to thank the youth of St. Bart’s parish in Bethesda, MD for helping us fold APeX Attacks #6. You have saved us many hours and many layers of skin on our hands. Finally we would like to thank all of our Benefactors (Friends of APeX). When we say that, we are talking about both types of Friends of APeX, those who donate money and those who hold our ministry and those we are blessed to serve in their prayer. We are continually humbled by the notes, cards, donations, and e-mails we receive in support.
